Alderon's Altra 3 wire Pump Switch is used to switch either 120 volt or 240 volt pumps on and off in environments with liquid temperatures up to 140° F. This pump switch can be used for either of two applications:
- Starting a pump when the float switch is down and stopping the pump when the float switch is up. (Filling a tank - Pump up)
- Starting a pump when the float switch is up and stopping the pump when the float switch is down. (Emptying a tank - Pump down)
This versatile switch comes with 3 wires inside its cable. Only two wires are used at any one time to control a pump. One wire plus the common wire will allow a pump to empty a tank. The other wire plus the common wire will allow a pump to fill a tank. Wiring connections should always be done within a junction box or control panel in accordance with local electrical codes.
To provide a pivot point, these control switches are supplied with a stainless steel clamp to secure the float switch cable to the pump discharge pipe. Alternatively, an optional cable weight is available.
