Description
LMI's Siphon Breaker, when installed in-line on a diaphragm pump's discharge tubing line, offers added protection against siphoning and enhances pump priming capabilities. This safety valve is recommended in all fluoridation applications as secondary anti-siphon protection. It may be used wherever auto priming and/or protection against syphoning is a requirement.
Under syphoning conditions, negative pressure draws a floating ball away from the atmospheric vent, thus allowing air to enter the chamber and break syphoning action. When prime is lost, the ball drops, opening the system to atmosphere, allowing the pump to self prime.
The clear acrylic body and cap houses a Teflon ball, polypropylene ball and Polyprel seal rings.
The Siphon breaker should always be installed in the discharge line vertically at least 2 feet above the maximum level of liquid in the supply tank.
