CTS Pipe Size Chart
CTS (copper tube size) pipe is measured by outside diameter, and copper tube and CTS poly pipe share the same sizes. IPS pipe, including PVC and IPS poly, is larger and will not fit this coupling. Measure before you order.

How to Use a Compression Coupling Without a Stop
These steps follow the Cambridge Brass installation instructions for CB compression fittings, plus the slide-over step for a coupling with no stop.
- Cut: Cut each pipe square with a tube or pipe cutter, not a hacksaw, and make sure the ends are round and clean.
- Stiffen: In plastic pipe, add a CTS insert stiffener to each pipe end.
- Slide: Mark both pipes, loosen the nuts, and slide the coupling fully onto one pipe. Line up the second pipe, then slide the coupling back to center it over the marks.
- Tighten: Tighten each nut with a smooth-jawed adjustable wrench until it bottoms against the body shoulder.
- Test: Pressure test the line before backfilling, and never let water freeze inside the fitting.
