Description
Compression Couplings Without Stops are used with copper tube as well as High Density Poly Pipe in applications that require the pipe to pass through the coupling body. The pipes will need to be marked to center the coupling over the pipe joint.
Copper tube size (CTS) pipe and fittings are often used with 3/4" and 1" service lines. Iron Pipe Size (IPS) pipes and fittings are more common for 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2" service lines. Insert stiffeners are required for all connections using flexible plastic pipe.
Installing a coupling with CB Compression ends is quick and easy.
Mark both pipes where the end of the coupling will be. Fully insert the coupling over one end of the copper pipe or Copper Tube Size (CTS) HDPE, align the second pipe, and then slide the coupling over the second pipe till the coupling aligns with both marks. The H nut are then tightened, which compressed the rubber gasket and stainless steel beveled gripper. This creates pull-out strength and a water tight seal. When used with copper tubing, the electrical conductor spring provides electrical contact between the pipe and the fitting. When used with HDPE the electrical conductor spring becomes purposeless.
These Cambridge Brass Couplings are meet or exceed AWWA C800 and NSF 61 & 372 and are 300 PSI rated.
