Free Shipping Policy

Our free shipping threshold is $199 CAD for customers in Canada and $199 USD for customers in the USA. This distinction accounts for the additional costs associated with shipping to the USA and the difference in currency value. While the USD threshold may be higher than our primary CAD currency, it helps offset the increased expenses we incur when providing free shipping to U.S. customers.

Extra Shipping Charges

Some items on our website may require additional shipping charges due to their size, weight, or special handling requirements. Generally, these exceptions will be noted either on the product page or during the checkout process.

Shipping Rate Disclosure During Checkout

Due to the complexities of designing a checkout system that accommodates the diverse product types we carry and the various locations we ship to, we do not display shipping rates during checkout for products that are excluded from our free shipping promotion.

Follow-up Invoice for Extra Shipping Costs

After you submit your order, we will send you a follow-up email with an invoice for you to pay any extra shipping costs that apply. This process is prominently noted during checkout at both the top of the page and in the Shipping field for products that incur additional costs.

General Shipping Policy

For most products, unless you are ordering a very large or unusually long item, or are ordering from a remote location, you should qualify for our free shipping policy. If you are unsure whether extra shipping charges apply to your order, please use the chat feature on our website for clarification or assistance.

Free Shipping Eligibility:

  • Orders valued at $199 or more, pre-tax, qualify for free shipping within Canada and the USA.
  • Orders must weigh 30 lbs. or less and fit within maximum dimensions of 16” x 16” x 16”.

Conditions Where Extra Charges Apply:

  • Heavy or bulky items such as chemicals, dangerous goods, tanks, large hoses, machinery, and other oversized items may require LTL (truck) shipment and incur extra charges.
  • Items exceeding 30 lbs. or with dimensions larger than 16” x 16” x 16” do not qualify for free shipping.

Flat Rate Shipping for Orders Under $199

  • Flat rate: Orders with a pre-tax value under $199 will incur a flat rate of $30 CAD for Atlantic Canada, $20 CAD for other Canadian locations, and $30 USD for the USA.
  • Exceptions: Canadian and U.S. territories are excluded from our free/reduced shipping promotions, as well as remote locations within Canadian provinces and American states. 

Additional Details:

  • If your cart shows a shipping charge but additional charges are necessary, we will contact you before processing your order.
  • Free or reduced shipping is via the most cost-effective courier option, including Canada Post, Purolator, UPS, Canpar, FedEx, or Loomis.

Less-than-truckload (LTL)

LTL (trucking company) shipping is used for larger orders that standard couriers cannot handle. This type of shipping may include additional services tailored to specific needs, such as dangerous goods handling, appointment scheduling, construction site delivery, and school delivery.

Residential and Farm Deliveries

For orders requiring delivery to residential or farm addresses, which typically lack commercial unloading facilities like a dock-level forklift:

  • Mandatory Tailgate Fee: This fee is applied when the delivery truck needs to include a tailgate to unload the items safely.
  • Call-for-Appointment Fee: To ensure the delivery aligns with your availability, trucking firms will charge a fee for scheduling a specific delivery time.

Cost-Saving Tip: If possible, consider changing the delivery location to a commercial or industrial address equipped with appropriate unloading facilities, such as a dock-level forklift. This change can significantly reduce the additional fees associated with residential or farm deliveries.
