Description
Lead Free brass curb stops are installed on the property line of homes and small commercial properties. They provide an easily located buried on/off valve for the water utility operator to temporarily isolate a water service from the water distribution system in case of leaks or a delinquent water bill payment.
Iron Pipe Size (IPS) pipes and fittings are common for 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2" service lines. Copper tube size (CTS) pipe and fittings are most often used with 3/4" and 1" service lines. Insert stiffeners are required for all connections using flexible plastic pipe.
Installing a curb stop with PJ ends is quick and easy. Iron pipe or Iron Pipe Size (IPS) HDPE is stabbed through the nut and gasket/friction ring assembly to the stab depth. Hand tighten plus 1-1/2 turns to compress the Nitrile gasket and create a water tight seal. The stainless steel screw is tightened for pull-out strength.
These Cambridge Brass Ball Valve meet or exceed AWWA C800 and NSF 61 and 372 Standards.
