Description

1812 RO Membrane Replacement for 50–100 GPD Under-Sink Systems

Your under-sink RO system's membrane wears out every 2 to 3 years. When water output drops or your TDS meter reads higher than usual, the Franklin Water FWME 1812 reverse osmosis membrane fits standard 2" x 12" residential housings as a direct replacement. Available in 50, 75, and 100 GPD with 95-96% salt rejection. Tested at 60-75 psi with 500 mg/L feed solution and rated for feed water up to 1,000 mg/L TDS.

Cleanflow Utility Supply Company is an authorized Franklin Water Treatment distributor shipping across Canada and the USA.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Direct residential RO membrane replacement that fits most under-sink systems, water coolers, and beverage equipment in the standard 1812 format without adapters or housing changes.

  • Available as a 50 GPD, 75 GPD, or 100 GPD RO membrane to match your household water demand, from a single drinking faucet up to a full kitchen with ice maker and refrigerator line.

  • Fits standard 2" x 12" membrane housings used in most under-sink RO membrane systems sold across North America, no modifications or adapters needed.

  • Built with aromatic polyamide thin-film composite (TFC) construction, the same TFC reverse osmosis membrane technology your original element uses, so the replacement performs the same way.

  • NSF/ANSI 61 certified as a drinking water RO membrane, confirming it meets health-effects requirements for drinking water contact. Cleanflow also carries other Franklin Water reverse osmosis membranes in the Franklin Water lineup.

  • 95-96% salt rejection (Method A) on feed water up to 1,000 mg/L TDS, a reliable point-of-use RO membrane for municipal tap water and low-TDS well water.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size membrane fits my under-sink RO system?

Most residential under-sink RO systems use a standard 1812 RO membrane, which measures 1.8 inches in diameter and 12 inches long. The Franklin Water 1812 membrane fits this standard housing. Check your existing membrane for the size printed on the label before ordering. If your system uses a different size like 2012 or 1812-75, the FWME 1812 series covers those as well.

How often should I replace my RO membrane?

Most residential RO membranes last 2 to 3 years under normal use. Replace the Franklin Water FWME 1812 reverse osmosis membrane sooner if you notice water output slowing down, if your TDS meter shows higher readings than when the membrane was new, or if the water starts tasting different. Heavy use or high-TDS well water can shorten membrane life.

What is the difference between the 50, 75, and 100 GPD models?

GPD means gallons per day, the amount of filtered water the membrane produces under test conditions. The 50 GPD model fills a storage tank more slowly but works fine for a single drinking faucet. The 75 and 100 GPD models fill faster and suit households that also run an ice maker or refrigerator water line. All three fit the same housing. Choose the Franklin Water residential RO membrane that matches the GPD rating printed on your current element.

Can I use the FWME 1812 on well water?

Yes, if your well water TDS stays below 1,000 mg/L (the membrane is rated up to 2,000 mg/L maximum). Get a water test first. If your well water has high iron, manganese, or hydrogen sulfide, you need pre-treatment (a sediment filter and possibly an iron filter) before the RO system. This thin-film composite membrane 1812 cannot tolerate chlorine above 0.1 mg/L, but most well water is untreated and chlorine-free.

What pre-treatment does my home RO system need?

At minimum, your RO system should have a sediment pre-filter to catch particles and a carbon pre-filter to remove chlorine from municipal tap water. Chlorine destroys thin-film composite membranes, and even small amounts above 0.1 mg/L cause permanent damage. Cleanflow stocks compatible reverse osmosis filters for both stages. Replace pre-filters on schedule (typically every 6 to 12 months) to protect the membrane and keep it producing clean water for its full 2 to 3 year lifespan.
