Installation & Single-Use Warning
Per LMI's installation manual, ferrules are single-use components. Once compressed onto chemical tubing, they cannot be removed and reused on new tubing. They deform during installation to form the seal.
Correct install procedure (from the LMI Quick Start Guide):
- Cut tubing square, no angled or jagged cuts
- Slide the coupling nut onto the tubing first, threads facing the fitting
- Slide the ferrule onto the tubing behind the coupling nut
- Insert the tubing into the LMI Liquipro fitting until it bottoms out
- Hand-tighten the coupling nut until snug, then turn an additional 1/8 to 1/4 turn
Critical: Do NOT use pliers or a pipe wrench on coupling nuts or fittings. Over-tightening can crack the ferrule or damage the fitting. If a connection leaks after installation, replace the ferrule with a new one. Do not attempt to re-seat the used ferrule.
