Description

Genuine OEM Discharge-Side Check Valves for LMI Liquipro Chemical Metering Pumps — Sodium Hypochlorite Ready

LMI Liquipro Injection Valve Assemblies are genuine OEM PVDF check valves that install on the discharge side of LMI Liquipro chemical metering pumps. They inject chemicals into the pressurized process line and prevent backflow into the pump head between strokes, protecting the diaphragm and maintaining accurate dosing.

Three discrete part numbers cover the LMI Liquipro tubing range:

  • LMI MPN 37354 — for 1/4" OD tubing (fits LMI LE-350 series pumps)
  • LMI MPN 37356 — for 3/8" OD tubing (fits LMI LE-390 series and LiquiPro 360/362/363/390/392/393 BI/SI/TI pumps)
  • LMI MPN 37358 — for 1/2" OD tubing (fits LMI LE-310 series and LiquiPro 310/312/313 BI/SI plus older 11S, 112, 112S, 172S, 178S)

Select the variant matching your tubing OD using the size selector above. All three feature the same PVDF body, Polyprel® seal, and ceramic ball check, and all three use a standard 1/2" Male NPT discharge thread for connection to your process line injection port.

How an Injection Check Valve Works

An injection valve serves two functions on a chemical metering pump's discharge side. First, it injects the chemical into your pressurized process line through a spring-loaded ball check opening on each pump stroke and closing between strokes. Second, it acts as a check valve, preventing the pressurized process line from pushing back into the pump head when the pump is idle.

Without an injection check valve, process line pressure can force liquid back through the discharge tubing, flooding the pump head, damaging the diaphragm, or contaminating your chemical drum. The Liquipro injection valve handles both functions in a single PVDF assembly.

Key Features of the LMI Liquipro PVDF Injection Valve

  • PVDF body, Polyprel® seal, and ceramic ball check — the standard LMI material spec for sodium hypochlorite, caustic, and acid dosing
  • 1/2" Male NPT discharge thread — fits the most common chemical injection port size in municipal and industrial systems
  • Spring-loaded ball check — prevents backflow from the process line and maintains discharge pressure between pump strokes
  • Three tubing OD sizes — 1/4" (37354), 3/8" (37356), and 1/2" (37358) variants
  • Designed for genuine OEM LMI Liquipro diaphragm pumps — 1/2" MNPT thread, also adaptable to other diaphragm metering pumps with compatible discharge fittings
  • Complete drop-in assembly — includes valve body, ceramic ball check, Polyprel® seat and seal, and the coupling nut for your selected tubing OD

Why PVDF + Polyprel® for Sodium Hypochlorite Dosing

Sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach) is the most common disinfection chemical in municipal water and wastewater treatment and one of the more demanding chemistries on injection valve materials. Two reasons PVDF and Polyprel® are the standard:

  • PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) resists chlorine attack at the concentrations used in municipal disinfection (typically 10–12.5% sodium hypochlorite supply) where PVC, polyethylene, and many other plastics would degrade or embrittle over time
  • Polyprel® (LMI's proprietary thermoplastic elastomer) maintains seal integrity in the presence of chlorine off-gassing, which generates back-pressure spikes that fatigue softer elastomers

This combination is also suitable for sodium hydroxide (caustic), most mineral acids, scale and corrosion inhibitors, and most other water treatment chemistries.

Common Applications

  • Municipal water disinfection (sodium hypochlorite chlorination)
  • Wastewater treatment and effluent disinfection
  • Cooling tower chemical treatment
  • Boiler water treatment
  • Industrial process water chlorination
  • Chemical dosing skids and packaged systems

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an injection valve do on a chemical metering pump?

It serves two functions: it injects chemical into your pressurized process line on each pump stroke, and it acts as a check valve preventing process line pressure from pushing back into the pump head between strokes. Without it, you risk pump damage and inaccurate dosing.

How do I know which size to order?

Match the variant to your existing chemical suction tubing OD. The three variants are:

1/4" tubing → LMI MPN 37354

  • Fits LE-350 series pumps

3/8" tubing → LMI MPN 37356

  • Fits LE-390 series
  • Also fits LiquiPro 360, 362, 363, 390, 392, and 393 series (BI/SI/TI variants)

1/2" tubing → LMI MPN 37358

  • Fits LE-310 series
  • Also fits LiquiPro 310, 312, 313 (BI/SI variants)
  • Also fits older non-LiquiPro models: 11S, 112, 112S, 172S, 178S

If unsure, contact our team with your LMI pump's model number and we'll confirm the correct part before you order.

Is this injection valve suitable for sodium hypochlorite?

Yes. PVDF body and Polyprel® seal are the standard material combination LMI specifies for sodium hypochlorite (12% chlorine) dosing. It's also rated for sodium hydroxide, mineral acids, and most other water treatment chemicals.

Are the seals EPDM?

No. These Liquipro valves use Polyprel® seals (LMI's proprietary thermoplastic elastomer) and a ceramic ball check. EPDM is used in LMI's Roytronic series, which is a different product line. If you're looking for a PVC + EPDM injection valve, see the LMI 48728 Roytronic Injection Valve Assembly instead.

What's the difference between an injection valve and a check valve?

An injection valve IS a check valve, but it's a check valve specifically designed to be installed at the chemical injection point on a pressurized process line. The 1/2" MNPT thread, spring-loaded ball check, and chemical-resistant materials are all engineered for that specific role.

How is the injection valve installed?

Thread the 1/2" MNPT body into your process line injection port. Connect your discharge tubing to the upper coupling nut (matching your selected variant's tubing OD). Hand-tighten plus 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Do not use a wrench to overtighten the tubing connection.
