Description

Single-Use Sealing Rings for LMI Liquipro Injection, Suction, And Discharge Valve Connections

LMI Liquipro Stainless Steel Clamp Rings are the sealing rings used on LMI Liquipro chemical metering pump tubing connections. Each ring sits over the tubing and under the coupling nut. As the coupling nut is tightened, the stainless ring is pressed into the tubing wall creating a tight, leak-free mechanical seal between the tubing and the valve fitting.

Two LMI part numbers cover the Liquipro clamp-ring range:

  • LMI MPN 26136 — for 3/8" OD chemical suction and discharge tubing
  • LMI MPN 37203 — for 1/2" OD chemical suction and discharge tubing

Both variants are sold in packs of 5. Use the size selector above to choose the variant matching your tubing OD.

⚠️ Important: Not Used on Foot Valves

Clamp rings are used on LMI Liquipro injection valves, suction valves, and discharge valves only. They are NOT used on foot valves.

If you're connecting tubing to a foot valve, you need a plastic ferrule instead, see LMI Liquipro 1/4" Tubing Connection Ferrules or LMI Tubing Connection Ferrules for the right part. Installing a clamp ring on a foot valve will not seal correctly.

⚠️ Single-Use: Never Reuse a Clamp Ring

Per LMI installation guidance: clamp rings are single-use. Once a clamp ring has been installed and the coupling nut tightened, the ring is permanently deformed into the tubing. It cannot re-seal another connection. Always install a new clamp ring whenever you re-make a tubing connection.

Reused clamp rings are the most common cause of leak callbacks on LMI Liquipro tubing connections. Stocking a pack-of-5 means you have spares ready when you need them.

How It Works

Mechanically, the clamp ring is a precision-formed stainless steel ring that bites into the soft chemical tubing wall when compressed. Installation sequence:

  • Slide the coupling nut over the tubing first
  • Slide the clamp ring over the tubing, just below the nut
  • Push the tubing onto the valve fitting (injection, suction, or discharge valve)
  • Hand-tighten the coupling nut, then add an additional 1/8 to 1/4 turn after the ring contacts the seal — per LMI guidance. Do not use a wrench to overtighten

Once tightened, the stainless ring deforms into the tubing wall, creating a permanent mechanical seal.

Key Features of the LMI Liquipro Stainless Steel Clamp Rings

  • Stainless steel construction — corrosion-resistant in chlorine, caustic, mineral acid, and most other water treatment chemistries
  • Two sizes available — 26136 for 3/8" OD tubing, 37203 for 1/2" OD tubing
  • Pack of 5 — stock spares for routine maintenance and connection rework
  • Single-use design — replace whenever a connection is re-made (do not reuse)
  • Compatible with LMI Liquipro injection, suction, and discharge valves — NOT for foot valves (use ferrules instead)
  • Original-equipment seal — the same clamp-ring system LMI ships on Liquipro pumps using this connection style

Clamp Ring vs. Ferrule — Which Do You Need?

LMI Liquipro pumps use two different sealing systems depending on tubing size and valve type:

Tubing OD Valve Type Seal You Need This Product?
1/4" tubing Any valve (injection, suction, discharge, foot) Plastic ferrule Not this part
3/8" tubing Injection, suction, or discharge valve Stainless clamp ring (26136) ✓ This part
3/8" tubing Foot valve Plastic ferrule Not this part
1/2" tubing Injection, suction, or discharge valve Stainless clamp ring (37203) ✓ This part

Not sure which sealing part you need? Contact our team with your LMI pump's model number and the connection point you're sealing. We'll confirm the correct part before you order.

Common Applications

LMI Liquipro stainless steel clamp rings are used on chemical metering pump tubing connections in:

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I reuse an LMI clamp ring?

No. Per LMI installation guidance, clamp rings are single-use. Once installed and tightened, the stainless ring is permanently deformed into the tubing. It cannot re-seal another connection. Always install a new clamp ring whenever you re-make a tubing connection. Reused clamp rings are the most common cause of leaks at these connections.

Do I need a clamp ring or a ferrule?

Use a clamp ring (this product) for 3/8" or 1/2" tubing on LMI Liquipro injection, suction, or discharge valves. Use a plastic ferrule for any 1/4" tubing connection, OR for 3/8" tubing on a foot valve. See the comparison table above for the full guide.

How do I know which size to order?

Match the variant to your existing chemical tubing OD. The 3/8" variant is LMI MPN 26136. The 1/2" variant is LMI MPN 37203. Both are sold in packs of 5. If unsure, contact our team with your LMI pump's model number.

Why is my LMI tubing connection leaking?

The two most common causes are: (1) reusing an old clamp ring instead of installing a new one, clamp rings are single-use; and (2) overtightening the coupling nut with a wrench, which crushes the tubing rather than properly compressing the ring. Always hand-tighten plus 1/8 to 1/4 turn, with a fresh ring.

How is the clamp ring installed?

Slide the coupling nut over the tubing first, then the clamp ring just below the nut. Push the tubing onto the valve fitting. Hand-tighten the coupling nut plus an additional 1/8 to 1/4 turn after the ring contacts the seal. Do not use a wrench to overtighten.

Will these clamp rings fit my older Liquipro pump?

Yes. These are the original-equipment clamp rings used on LMI Liquipro pumps with the clamp-ring connection style. If you have a different LMI pump series and aren't sure whether your connections use clamp rings or ferrules, contact our team with your pump's model and serial number.

What's the difference between a clamp ring and a ferrule?

A clamp ring is a stainless steel ring that mechanically deforms into the tubing wall when compressed by the coupling nut, creating a permanent metal-to-tubing seal. A ferrule is typically a softer plastic compression component that seals by squeezing the tubing radially. LMI uses clamp rings for 3/8" and 1/2" tubing on injection, suction, and discharge valves, and ferrules everywhere else (1/4" tubing, and on foot valves).
