Product Overview

When a gravity sewer is not available and the discharge line has to run hundreds of feet through a small-diameter pressure pipe, a standard sewage ejector cannot do the job. The HCP GD and GDN grinder pumps macerate sewage into a fine slurry and push it through 1-1/4 inch lines at heads up to 90 ft. Two motor sizes cover residential through light-commercial loads.

Key Features of HCP GD/GDN Grinder Pumps

• The hardened steel cutter and shredder ring macerate sewage, rags, wipes, and soft solids into a fine slurry that passes through a 1-1/4 inch discharge line. This is what separates a grinder pump from a sewage ejector: grinders reduce waste to slurry, ejectors pass solids whole through a larger pipe.
• At 57 ft (1 HP) and 90 ft (2 HP) of head, the GD/GDN pumps push slurry through small-diameter pressure lines over distances that stall a vortex ejector. This makes them practical for low-pressure sewer systems, rural properties, and buildings far from the gravity main.
• A cast-iron (FC200) casing and volute with a 304 stainless steel motor frame handle continuous sewage duty. Double mechanical seals (carbon/ceramic upper, silicon carbide lower) run in an oil-filled chamber to keep sewage out of the motor.
• The 120V and 240V single-phase models include an auto-cut thermal protector and moisture sensor. Three-phase models use external overload protection. All models are IP68 sealed and rated for permanent submersion to 33 ft (10 m).
