Description

PTFE (Teflon®) Tubing – High-Performance, Chemically Inert, FDA Compliant

PTFE (Teflon®) Tubing is engineered for environments where extreme temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and harsh external conditions make traditional tubing materials unsuitable. Manufactured from FDA- and 3-A compliant PTFE resins, this tubing provides exceptional chemical resistance, thermal stability, and non-reactive performance, making it ideal for food processing, laboratory use, chemical transfer, pharmaceuticals, and high-purity applications.

PTFE is naturally UV stable, non-flammable, and maintains its mechanical integrity even under severe thermal cycling. Its smooth, translucent, milky-white finish supports clean flow with minimal friction, and its exceptionally low extractable content ensures purity in sensitive processes.

Unlike flexible hose, PTFE tubing is ordered by outside diameter (O.D.), providing precise sizing for fittings, manifolds, instrumentation, and fluid handling systems.

Teflon® is a registered trademark of DuPont Corporation.

Key Features

Exceptional Chemical Resistance

Inert to nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and corrosive media.

Wide Temperature Range

Performs continuously from –200°C (–328°F) to 260°C (500°F) without degradation.

Food & High-Purity Compatible

Produced using FDA-compliant resins and 3-A approved materials, suitable for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical processes.

Non-Flammable & UV Stable

PTFE does not support combustion and is fully resistant to UV exposure and weathering.

Smooth Bore for Clean Flow

Low friction coefficient minimizes flow resistance and contamination risks.

Made in Italy

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is PTFE tubing used for?

PTFE tubing is ideal for applications that require extreme chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance, purity, and non-reactivity. Common industries include food processing, chemical handling, laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor processes, and high-temperature fluid transfer.

Is PTFE tubing food safe?

Yes. This tubing is manufactured from FDA-compliant and 3-A approved PTFE resins, making it suitable for food, beverage, dairy, and sanitary applications.

Why is PTFE tubing ordered by outside diameter (O.D.)?

Unlike rubber hose, PTFE tubing maintains a rigid dimensional profile and is sized by O.D. for fitting compatibility. This ensures proper sealing with compression fittings, push-to-connect fittings, and instrumentation components.

Can PTFE tubing withstand high temperatures?

Yes. It operates continuously from –200°C (–328°F) to 260°C (500°F), making it one of the most temperature-resistant tubing materials available.

Is PTFE tubing chemically resistant?

Extremely. PTFE is inert to nearly all chemicals, including acids, bases, solvents, fuels, and corrosive agents. Only a few exotic chemicals (e.g., molten alkali metals) can attack it.

Does PTFE tubing support combustion?

No. PTFE is non-flammable and does not support combustion, making it safe for high-temperature and electrical environments.

Is PTFE tubing UV or weather resistant?

Yes. PTFE is fully UV stable and resists weathering, ideal for outdoor or exposed applications.

Can PTFE tubing be used under pressure?

Yes. Each size has a defined working pressure rating—up to 240 PSI depending on diameter. Always follow size-specific pressure limits.

Is PTFE tubing flexible?

It is semi-rigid and less flexible than nylon or polyurethane tubing. PTFE maintains shape well and is intended for static or lightly dynamic routing.

Is it suitable for vacuum service?

Yes. PTFE’s mechanical stability and low gas permeability make it well-suited for vacuum and laboratory systems.

Where is the tubing manufactured?

This PTFE tubing is Made in Italy, ensuring consistent quality and compliance with international manufacturing standards.
