Description
The Most Powerful PTP On 4-Inch Venting: 200,000 BTU Commercial-Grade Low-Profile Natural Gas Unit Heater For Warehouses, Workshops, And Large Commercial Spaces
The Modine PTP200 (PTP200AS0111) commercial gas unit heater is the largest and most powerful model in the PTP series that still uses a 4-inch vent pipe. At 200,000 BTU input and 164,000 BTU output (82% efficiency), it pushes 2,870 CFM with a 52°F temperature rise and throws heat 53 feet from a maximum mounting height of 15 feet. The PTP250 and above require 6-inch venting. If you need maximum output on a 4-inch pipe, the PTP200 is the ceiling.
The PTP200 natural gas unit heater also steps up to a 1/3 HP motor, double the 1/6 HP used on the PTP150 and PTP175. This drives 2,870 CFM through the same 22-inch propeller fan at a higher outlet velocity (643 FPM vs 607 on the PTP175), delivering a longer heat throw (53 ft vs 50 ft) from a higher mounting point (15 ft vs 14 ft).
Like all PTP models, it features a 20-gauge aluminized steel cabinet, a contractor convenience box with diagnostic LEDs, and controls protected inside the cabinet.

Installation Tips
-
Commercial and industrial use only. The PTP series is ETL certified for commercial and industrial applications. It is not certified for residential use.
-
Last model on the 4-inch vent. The PTP200 unit heater is the most powerful PTP with a 4-inch vent pipe and a 1/2-inch gas connection. The PTP250 requires a 6-inch vent and 3/4-inch gas. Choose PTP200 to maximize output on existing 4-inch infrastructure.
-
Max 70-foot horizontal vent run. Same as PTP175. Each 90-degree elbow adds 5 feet of equivalent length. Minimum 3-foot vent run required.
-
LP kit is #55405. Different from PTP175 (#55404) and PTP150 (#55403). The same burner is used for both natural gas and propane.
-
Same width as PTP175, slightly deeper. The Modine PTP200 unit heater is 42.53 inches wide (same as PTP175) but 34.43 inches deep (vs 32.83). Verify ceiling clearance for the added depth.
-
Clearances: 6 inches on all sides (top, bottom, access, non-access). 18 inches at the rear. Minimum 7-foot install height from floor in commercial applications.
Buy the Modine PTP200 Commercial Gas Unit Heater Online from Cleanflow
If your building already has a 4-inch vent pipe and you need every BTU you can get before a vent upgrade, the PTP200 Unit Heater is the answer. No other PTP model delivers 200,000 BTU on 4-inch venting. The 1/3 HP motor and 2,870 CFM airflow handle spaces that the PTP175 cannot fully reach, and the same vent cap and gas connection mean zero infrastructure changes.
Cleanflow Utility Supply Company stocks the PTP200 Commercial Gas Unit Heater with free shipping on orders over $199 CAD across Canada and the USA. As an authorized Modine supplier, Cleanflow backs every unit with manufacturer warranty support. Not the right fit? Cleanflow offers hassle-free returns and exchanges on all orders.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the PTP200 compare to the PTP175?
The PTP200 Commercial Gas Unit Heater delivers 14% more BTU (200,000 vs 175,000) and 5% more airflow (2,870 vs 2,725 CFM). It upgrades to a 1/3 HP motor (double the PTP175's 1/6 HP), which drives a higher outlet velocity (643 vs 607 FPM), longer throw (53 vs 50 ft), and higher max mounting height (15 vs 14 ft). Both use a 4-inch vent pipe with a 70-foot maximum horizontal run. The PTP200 is the last model before 6-inch venting. LP kit is #55405 (not PTP175's #55404).
Why would I choose PTP200 over PTP250?
The PTP200 gas unit heater uses a 4-inch vent pipe and a 1/2-inch gas connection. The PTP250 steps up to a 6-inch vent pipe and a 3/4-inch gas connection. If you already have 4-inch vent infrastructure installed, the PTP200 lets you maximize output (200,000 BTU) without replacing your vent pipe. If you need more than 200,000 BTU, the PTP250 (250,000 BTU) requires the vent upgrade.
Is the PTP200 residential-certified?
No. At 200,000 BTU, the PTP200 is a commercial and industrial unit only. The PTP series is not ETL certified for residential installation. Residential spaces up to 125,000 BTU are covered by the Modine Hot Dawg HD series.
Can I run the PTP200 Gas Unit Heater on the existing 4-inch vent from a smaller unit?
Yes. If you are replacing a PTP150 or PTP175, the PTP200 uses the same 4-inch vent pipe, the same vent cap (PN 5H0722850001), and the same 1/2-inch gas connection. No vent upgrade needed. The PTP200 is the maximum output you can get before the PTP250 forces a switch to a 6-inch vent and 3/4-inch gas.
Will 200,000 BTU heat my warehouse in a cold Canadian winter?
At 200,000 BTU input (164,000 BTU output), the PTP200 is the best 200000 BTU commercial gas heater for a warehouse that handles approximately 4,000 to 6,000+ square feet, depending on insulation, ceiling height, and climate zone. It starts at -40°F, is ETL certified for the US and Canada, and is CSA-B149.1 compliant. For elevations above 2,000 feet, derate by 4% per 1,000 feet.
