• The heat-treated saw tooth blade on the Reed IC1S cuts through plastic pipe aggressively and can also cut wood for sink lugs. The 1.26-inch blade reaches a cutting depth of 0.38 inches (9.6 mm).
• With a minimum pipe I.D. of 1-1/4 inches, this inside pipe cutter fits smaller drain lines where the Reed IC1A abrasive model (1-1/2 inch minimum) cannot reach.
• The 4-inch shaft fits any standard 3/8-inch drill chuck, making the IC1S a compact plastic pipe cutter for tight spaces. Flats on the shaft prevent slippage in the drill chuck during cutting.
• At 0.2 lbs (0.1 kg), the Reed IC1S adds almost no weight to the drill. The compact shaft keeps the tool manageable in confined work areas above ceilings and below floors.
• When the internal pipe cutter blade wears down, swap in a new IC1RS replacement blade (item code 04503, sold in 2-packs). The shaft and hardware are reusable.

How to Use the Reed IC1S

1. Wear safety glasses or full face protection before starting.
2. Insert the IC1S shaft into a standard 3/8-inch drill chuck and tighten securely.
3. Set the drill to forward rotation only. Do not run the Reed IC1S in reverse.
4. Lower the blade into the pipe, squeeze the trigger, and hold the drill straight at a right angle to the pipe. Let the blade penetrate completely through the pipe wall, then rotate 360 degrees to finish the cut.
5. Keep the blade away from concrete and other hard surfaces. For cuts near concrete, switch to the Reed IC1A with its abrasive blade.
6. Replace the internal pipe cutter blade immediately if it shows excessive wear or chipping.
