Description
NSF/ANSI 55 Class A Certified Potable Water UV System with Patented Crossfire Reflectors, Automatic Quartz Sleeve Wiper, Air-Mounted Sensors and Lamps, Touchscreen Interface | 16.5 GPM, 120V or 230V
Product Overview
Every component on the Hallett 500PN that needs maintenance sits outside the water chamber. Lamps, sensors, and the quartz sleeve wiper all mount in air, not water. That means lamp changes, sensor calibration, and sleeve cleaning happen without draining the system or interrupting water service. NSF/ANSI 55 Class A certified for potable water at 16.5 GPM with a minimum UV dose of 40 mJ/cm².
Dual NIST-calibrated sensors monitor UV intensity and water quality continuously. Color touchscreen with data logging, onboard diagnostics, and remote monitoring via dry contacts or optional Modbus/4-20mA output. Available in four variants: Standard or 4-20mA & Modbus, each in 120V or 230V.
Available Models
- Standard Model, 120V
- Standard Model, 230V
- 4-20mA & Modbus Model, 120V
- 4-20mA & Modbus Model, 230V
Key Features
- Crossfire Technology (patented): Elliptical reflectors redirect UV light 360 degrees for full pathogen exposure with no shadowed zones inside the treatment chamber.
- Self-cleaning quartz sleeve wiper: Automatic wiper prevents fouling and scale buildup on the quartz sleeve without manual intervention or system shutdown.
- Dual smart UV sensors (air-mounted, NIST-calibrated): NIST-calibrated sensors monitor UV intensity and water quality continuously, with no water contact and no wet-side calibration needed.
- Air-mounted UV lamps: Dual LPHO lamps with 9,000-hour typical life and a maximum of 12 lamp cycles per day. Lamp changes take minutes with no wet-side access.
- Temperature management system: Built-in forced air cooling and purge valve prevent false alarms and system shutdowns from overheating during continuous operation.
- Color touchscreen with data logging: LCD interface displays real-time diagnostics, logs 99 messages with timestamps, and provides visual/audible alarms for system events.
- Dry contacts + optional Modbus and 4-20mA output: Standard dry contacts for remote alerts. Optional 4-20mA and Modbus models add integration with building automation and SCADA systems.
- Plug-and-play design: No clearance space needed for lamp removal. Lamps install from the top, simplifying installation in tight spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does NSF/ANSI 55 Class A certification mean?
Class A is the highest UV treatment classification under NSF/ANSI 55. It certifies the system for disinfection of microbiologically unsafe water, meaning it treats water that may contain bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. Class A requires a minimum UV dose of 40 mJ/cm².
What is Crossfire Technology?
Patented elliptical reflectors inside the treatment chamber redirect UV light in a 360-degree pattern. This eliminates shadowed zones where pathogens could pass untreated and increases the effective UV dose without adding lamps or power.
How does the self-cleaning quartz sleeve wiper work?
An automatic wiper moves along the quartz sleeve to remove scale, mineral deposits, and fouling. The wiper position sensor confirms the cleaning cycle completed. No manual cleaning, no system shutdown, no tools.
Why are the lamps and sensors air-mounted?
Air-mounted components sit outside the water chamber. Lamp changes and sensor calibration happen without draining the system, breaking pipe connections, or interrupting water service. This eliminates the most common maintenance pain point on conventional UV systems.
What is the difference between the Standard and 4-20mA/Modbus models?
Both models use the same UV chamber, lamps, sensors, and Crossfire Technology. The 4-20mA & Modbus model adds analog and digital communication outputs for integration with building automation systems, SCADA, and remote monitoring platforms. Choose Standard if you only need local monitoring via the touchscreen and dry contact alerts.
Are replacement parts available?
Yes. Cleanflow Utility Supply Company stocks Hallett replacement lamps, quartz sleeves, wiper components, UV sensors, and circuit boards for the 500PN and other Hallett systems. Regular lamp replacement (every 9,000 hours) and sensor verification maintain certified performance.
