At -50C a steel toe cap works against you. Steel conducts cold, and a toe cap that pulls heat out of a foot is doing the opposite of its job. The Bekina Thermolite Z090GG uses a composite toe instead, inside extra thick micro-foam polyurethane that insulates rather than conducts. Composite toe winter boots rated CSA Z195-14 Grade 1 with Omega electric shock resistance to 18kV.
