How to Install a CTS Female Adapter
- Pipe end: Cut the pipe square with a tube cutter, not a hacksaw. Put an insert stiffener in a poly or PEX pipe (CTS insert stiffeners for 3/4" and 1" pipe), push the pipe in all the way, and tighten the nut until it stops.
- Thread end: Put pipe sealant or PTFE tape on the male thread. Turn the adapter only on its flat sides with a smooth-jawed wrench.
- Before burying: Pressure test the line and keep water from freezing inside the fitting.
