Description

HCP AN-22 Submersible Dewatering Pump for Silty Water and Flood Control

Product Overview

The HCP AN-22 submersible dewatering pump is a 2-inch unit built for muddy, silty and gritty water. This 2 HP submersible dewatering pump moves up to 132 GPM and lifts to 80.4 ft on an open cast-iron impeller, and it can sit as deep as 66 ft (20 m) below the surface, double the 33 ft rating of HCP's smaller AN pumps. Common installs are construction sumps, basements, utility vaults, and fishponds.

Available in 240V single-phase or 575V three-phase, and certified to cUL and CSA for Canadian installations.

Key Features of the HCP AN-22 Submersible Dewatering Pump

  • Open cast-iron impeller (FC200). Moves more water per horsepower than a vortex design. Passes solids to 3/8 inch.
  • 66 ft (20 m) submersion rating. Double HCP's smaller AN pumps.
  • Double silicon carbide mechanical seals in an oil bath.
  • Motor protection, 240V model: auto-cut thermal protector and moisture sensor. The 575V model has none built in and needs overload protection in the control panel.
  • Epoxy resin cable base. Blocks moisture from wicking into the motor through the core wires.
  • 2-pole dry motor. 3440 rpm, Class F insulation.
  • cUL and CSA C22.2 No. 108-14 certified.

240V or 575V: which AN-22 do you need?

Both models are the same 2 HP pump with identical hydraulics: 132 GPM, 80.4 ft of head, 3/8 inch solids, open cast-iron impeller. The difference is the motor and how it is protected.

What's Included

  • HCP AN-22 submersible dewatering pump
  • 30 ft power cable
  • Convertible discharge outlet (flange and elbow compatible)

Key Benefits of the 2 HP Submersible Dewatering Pump

  • Reaches deep excavations, shafts and sumps that a 33 ft pump cannot be set low enough to clear.
  • Keeps running in sandy, gritty water instead of wearing the impeller out.
  • Meets Canadian certification requirements out of the box, with no field evaluation before an inspector signs off.
  • Two voltage options on the same 2 HP submersible dewatering pump: 240V single-phase for standard sites, 575V three-phase for commercial power.
  • Holds flow at height better than a vortex pump of the same horsepower, so it clears long or steep discharge runs.

Performance Overview

The HCP AN-22 dewatering pump moves up to 132 GPM and lifts to 80.4 ft, with a standard duty point of 66 GPM at 59.1 ft. Flow falls as head rises, so size this 2 HP submersible dewatering pump to the vertical lift from the water to your discharge point.

HCP AN-22

Applications

The HCP AN-22 dewatering pump suits jobs where the water is dirty, deep, or both:

  • Construction site and excavation dewatering
  • Deep sumps and shafts (up to 66 ft submersion)
  • Basement sump pits and cellar drainage
  • Emergency flood control
  • Manhole and utility vault dewatering
  • Fishpond and water feature drainage
  • Light commercial and industrial drainage on three-phase power

Setup and Usage Guidelines

  • The 240V model requires a 240V single-phase connection. Verify breaker compatibility before installation.
  • Check phase rotation on the 575V model before running it. A DOL three-phase motor turns backwards on reversed phases and will not pump.
  • Ensure the sump pit allows space for the float switch to operate without obstruction.
  • Do not use for heavy sewage or large trash. This pump is intended for clean to muddy water with small solids (max 3/8 inch).
  • Vertical installation is standard. Set the pump on a stable, level surface.
  • The pump may be submerged to 66 ft (20 m). Do not exceed that depth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Open impeller or vortex impeller, which do I need?

An open impeller, like the one in the AN-22, moves more water per horsepower and suits gritty, sandy and silty dewatering. A vortex impeller passes stringy and fibrous debris without it touching the vanes, but runs roughly 25 to 30 percent less efficiently. Choose open for abrasive water and maximum output, and vortex where rags and fibres are in the water. Compare both across the submersible dewatering pumps range.

What voltage options does the AN-22 come in?

Two. A 240V single-phase model drawing 9.6 A (SKU AN-22-612LEPE3NX), and a 575V three-phase model drawing 2.3 A (SKU AN-22-635OEXE4NX). Both deliver the same 2 HP, 132 GPM and 80.4 ft of head. The three-phase model is lighter (60 lb versus 68 lb) and about 3 inches shorter, but it needs overload protection in the control panel, while the 240V model has an auto-cut thermal protector and moisture sensor built in.

How many gallons per minute does a 2 HP submersible dewatering pump move?

The HCP AN-22 submersible dewatering pump delivers up to 132 gallons per minute at low head, with a maximum shut-off head of 80.4 ft. Its standard duty point is 66 GPM at 59.1 ft. Flow decreases as vertical lift increases.

How deep can the AN-22 be installed?

Up to 66 ft (20 m) of submersion, double the 33 ft rating of HCP's smaller AN pumps. That suits deep excavations, shafts, and sumps where a standard pump cannot be set low enough.

Is the HCP AN-22 CSA-certified for use in Canada?

Yes. The AN-22 carries CSA C22.2 No. 108-14 and cUL (UL778). Electrical products sold and installed in Canada have to be certified by an accredited body or field-evaluated first, so a certified pump avoids the cost and delay of a field evaluation before an inspector signs off.
